Please join us in celebrating the 18th Annual Northeast Louisiana Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. We’re thrilled because we know that "together" we can achieve more in the fight against breast cancer and we’re planning for this year’s race to be our best event yet. Our Race is set for September 24, 2011 at Forsythe Park in Monroe at 8:00am.
$25 for adults
$10 for kids 12 and under
Registrants can also "Sleep in for the Cure" where participants pay $30 in race fees but plan to "sleep in" instead of race. These participants receive a special "sleep in" gift along with their Race shirt.
Proceeds from the Komen Race for the Cure Series fund research efforts and local breast health and breast cancer outreach programs. A majority of the proceeds fund community projects related to breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment. Such projects are based on the specific needs of each community as determined by a need assessment performed by each local Komen Affiliate. Up to 75% of net proceeds generated by the Affiliate stay in Northeast-Central Louisiana with the remaining income going to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program to fund research. The Komen NECLA Affiliate is made up of 19 parishes in Northeast- Central Louisiana. Those parishes are Avoyelles, Caldwell, Catahoula, Concordia, East Carroll, Franklin, Grant, Jackson, La Salle, Madison, Lincoln, Morehouse, Ouachita, Rapides, Richland, Tensas, Union, Vernon and West Carroll Parishes.
